The Texas Medical Billing Company That Already Knows Your Payer Mix

Texas Medicaid runs through STAR managed care, not fee-for-service. Medicare claims answer to Novitas Solutions under Jurisdiction H. Texas is one of only twelve states with no Certificate of Need law, so practices expand faster than almost anywhere else in the country. CureBytes builds every Texas engagement around these realities from day one

Texas Billing Moves

Built for Practices Juggling Deadlines That Don't Share a Calendar
A provider participating in Medicare, three commercial plans, and a state Medicaid program is really on four or five separate timelines, none of which start or end on the same date. NCQA does not treat 36 months as an approximate window either; it is a fixed cycle from the last committee approval date, and a lapsed credential is treated as a compliance violation rather than a paperwork delay. The practices that get caught out are rarely careless. They are usually relying on a spreadsheet or a single staff member's calendar reminder, and both of those fail quietly the moment that person moves on or gets pulled onto something more urgent. We replace that informal tracking with a system that follows the provider, not the person managing the file

Built for Practices Juggling Deadlines That Don't Share a Calendar

36-month commercial payer re-credentialing tracked per provider, per payer

CAQH 120-day re-attestation completed every cycle without exception

Medicare revalidation tracked on its own three- to five-year clock

License, DEA, and malpractice renewal monitoring

Monthly exclusion and sanction screening against OIG, SAM.gov, and state databases

Your front desk in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, or Austin shouldn't have to guess which rulebook applies. Ours already knows

Texas Payer By Payer

The Texas Payer Landscape, Payer by Payer

Texas's payer mix is large and fragmented. We track each of the following by name,

not by a single generic commercial-payer rulebook.

Texas Claims

Texas Rules That Show Up in Your Claims, Not Just Your Compliance Binder

Prompt Pay — Texas Insurance Code Ch. 1301

Texas HMOs and PPOs must pay clean electronic claims within 30 days and paper claims within 45 days. Late payment triggers a tiered penalty on top of the claim itself, steeper the longer it’s overdue, and providers get 270 days to appeal an underpayment. We track every commercial claim against these deadlines and flag anything approaching the line.

Certificate of Need — None

Texas is one of only twelve states with no Certificate of Need law, so opening a facility, adding equipment, or launching a service line doesn’t need state approval first. That speed cuts both ways: a rushed credentialing or enrollment gap starts generating denials just as fast.

Physician Licensing — Texas Medical Board

Physicians are licensed and disciplined by the Texas Medical Board. We verify license and DEA status alongside payer enrollment so a credentialing gap doesn’t surface later as a claim denial

Telehealth — No Guaranteed Parity

Texas Medicaid doesn’t guarantee telehealth pays the same as an in-person visit; HHSC sets each rate on its own, and live video is generally preferred over audio-only. Originating-site rules are flexible enough to include a patient’s home. We code each telehealth claim to its actual reimbursement rate instead of assuming parity.

Workers' Comp — The Non-Subscriber System

Texas is the only state where most private employers can legally skip workers’ comp altogether. Non-subscriber injury claims run through the employer’s own benefit plan, not the state fee schedule, and get billed and appealed differently from a standard workers’ comp claim. Employers who do subscribe are billed under Texas’s own Medicare-based conversion factor, currently 217% of Medicare for professional services and 272% for facility-based surgery.

Revenue Cycle Management Built for the Way Your
Practice Actually Operates

Practices Currently Splitting RCM Across Multiple Vendors

We consolidate eligibility, coding, and AR under one accountable team so nothing falls into the gap between vendors.

Practices Scaling Beyond What In-House Staff Can Manage

We absorb the growing claim volume a busy practice generates without the lag time of hiring and training more billing staff.

Multi-Location and Multi-Specialty Health Systems

We apply consistent processes and reporting across every location and specialty instead of letting standards drift site by site.

Practices Wanting One Point of Accountability for Revenue

We give you a single team and a single report to look at, instead of reconciling numbers from three different vendors every month.

Pricing

Transparent Pricing. No Contracts. No Guesswork.

Full-cycle revenue cycle management is priced as a percentage of collections, so there is no upfront cost and no incentive misalignment between what we charge and what you actually get paid. If your combined net collection rate falls below 95% in any quarter under our management, we run a full revenue cycle audit at no additional charge, because a number below the professional benchmark is our responsibility to fix, not yours to absorb.

Back-End

How Our Team Turns a Fragmented Revenue Cycle Into One System

Every practice that comes to us with a revenue problem is usually surprised by how many separate people and systems were involved in creating it. We start every new client relationship with a full revenue cycle audit across all three stages, front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end, so the fix addresses the actual break in the chain instead of the symptom that happened to surface first.
